A Fun and Spooky Halloween Gathering

The last few years we have made it a tradition to have friends over on Halloween.
Our neighborhood is a great place for trick or treating and a big group of kids and adults will make their way from house to house, while some of us stay and pass out the candy to all the cute kiddos coming by.

Usually, we just have a few snacks and drinks, while enjoying our time together. But, this year, I want to kick it up a notch and do something a little more special.

I really love this Spooky Eyeball Punch from Happiness is Homemade.  It is super easy and looks so fun.  Imagine a whole punch bowl full of those creepy eyeballs!

The Graveyard Cupcakes that are in the same post as above, are too cute, and look pretty easy, as well.

These Dracula Dentures only take 4 ingredients and don't you know that the kids would love them! They are scarily cute!

No Halloween Party would be complete without a mummy or two.

These Oreo Mummies just look tasty and don't look like they would take much time.  That's what I'm all about; quick and easy, but too cute.

I love the combination of sweet and salty and these Funny Bones use chocolate and pretzels, along with marshmallows.  Yes, please.

Of course, you can't just have sweets around. You need something else for all those who don't love chocolate and candy (although, personally, I think there is something wrong with those people).

Pigs in a Blanket are one of my family's favorites, and these Mummy Dogs go right long with the spooky theme. They are easy to make and sure to be a hit.

When everyone has had their fill of spooky fun, I want to send the kiddos home with an extra special treat.  These Hand Halloween Party Favors would top off the fun nicely!

Even one or two of these fun treats would make the night special.  Being with friends and spending time together is what makes it so much fun.

What treat are you looking forward to making for a spooky Halloween gathering?

My Fall Centerpiece

I love to add fun fall touches throughout the house for the whole season.  Even though it doesn't really feel like fall until well into October.  Now, the cool weather is finally here and I'm loving it.

I was walking in the yard one day after a storm the previous night and there were a few branches down in the yard, and I knew I had to bring them inside.

Fall Branch Centerpiece

I love the way they look in the vintage milk jug. At first, I just had the bare branches, then I knew I had to do more.  I cut out leaves from my stockpile of scrapbook paper and taped them on.

It's really huge!

It reaches up and around the light fixture, so they sort of mingle together nicely.

The vintage Borden milk jug is one that my Daddy gave to me.  I have no idea how old it is.

And, who says that glass balls are only for Christmas?

What have you created with scrapbook paper for the fall?

Have you brought nature inside your home for the season?

Fall Porch Vignette And A Printable

Well, I usually wait until October 1st to decorate for fall, but the weather this weekend was amazing and I couldn't wait.

Simple Fall Porch Vignette

It's simple and easy.  I didn't have to stress over it at all.  Right now, I have a simple berry wreath on the door, but I will put out a bigger fall wreath at a later date.  I added a Coca-Cola crate stuffed with burlap and have the pumpkins spilling out. I'm using my Easy Rope Nest as a cornucopia that I will fill with mini pumpkins, and brought a grape vine star from inside the house.

Simple Fall Vignette

I created the fall printable to add to the frame and embellished with a few scrapbooking items.

Pumpkins, Stars, and Burlap, Oh My!
I updated my grapevine wreath:
Fall Paper Bunting

Fall Paper Bunting
I love bunting and change mine out on the porch with the seasons.  I love the combinations of these papers.  It's a super cheap, quick, and easy option for bunting.

I love the simplicity of the decor, and I only spent $24 to update it and it took about an hour to change everything out.

Are you updating your decor for fall yet?
Maybe you can use this cute fall printable?

Loving Autumn

Autumn, Fall, whatev...

I love it.  And, we don't get much of it around here.  Step inside the house at the wrong moment and you'll miss it.  However, if you're like me, you don't want to be outside in the heat with the mosquitoes, so your pretty much screwed.

The hubs love Fall, too. He really loves putting out fall decor.  I don't do a lot of decorating for seasons, but we do some type of vignette on the front porch for Fall and Christmas.

No, I don't really change up much for Halloween and Thanksgiving.  We have the necessary carved pumpkins for Halloween, and then they get tossed when I can't stand the smell anymore.

I am getting ready to fix up the door and front porch for the changing season.  I know some people have had theirs out for a few weeks now, but I just couldn't do it.  Not when it's still 100+ degrees out. Nope. Not gonna do it.

I need cooler temps to woo me.

And, they are coming!

It will be in the upper 80's this weekend.

Don't tell me it's only a forecast and that can change.

It won't change.

It won't.

So there.

I went shopping this weekend and gathered a few items for my  mini makeover.

I used to have tons of "stuff" on my front porch, but I now go with a little more simple look.

Here is what it looks like now:

Anyway....

Nice and simple. Minimalistic, if you will. (Use snooty voice here.)

You see, my porch is very narrow. More alleylike in appearance, really.
Just a straight shot up to the front door.
So, I have struggled with how to stage it.  Until, I decided to go simple.

It took a load off my mind! I don't have to worry that things are getting knocked around every time someone approaches the front door! Or, that the decor is attacking anyone! Yea!

Now it is off with the old and in with the new!
Here are a few of the things that I purchased:

Can you guess what I'm making? One of the things I'm making, I have wanted to do for a while, I just never got to it.  Stay tuned to see more!

Now here are a few pumpkin picking pic for your enjoyment:

Okay, old pics! I didn't get to go pumpkin picking with the family last year, and the hubs certainly didn't take any shots.  But, still don't they make you long for cooler weather?
