Weekly Planner Printable Freebie

Last week, I shared daily planner page for you to download.  You seemed to like it, so I wanted to share the weekly planner with you, as well.

I chose the verse Genesis 1:13 because it just seemed fitting.  We try to stuff so much into each day, but our days never compare to God's creation!

Click on the link below to download the Weekly Planner, and in case you missed the Daily Planner, head here to check it out, as well.

A Command Center and Dropzone: Organizing for the Organizationally Challenged

I can't believe I haven't shown you our command center!
It's used every. single. day.
Well, at least during the school year.  We kinda wing it during the summer. It's all good.

Really it's more of a mini command center, and it's mostly for me to keep track of all that's going on.

I used two ornate frames that I snagged from various other projects and painted them both.  I added a fabric scrap behind the glass of the large frame to create a huge dry erase board. Sometimes, it has a peek at the week coming up, and other times it has reminders of chores that need to be done (and by whom).

I was constantly leaving my keys in all sorts of weird places, so the key hooks were a must and I am proud to say that I haven't misplaced my keys since!

The cork board houses papers that have a to-do associated with them (other than bills). For instance, I put my notice to renew my driver's license up there so I would know where it was. Then, once I took it down, I promptly misplaced it.****Really?*****

I put the "Laundry" sign on the door to let everyone know that is a place that they do not wish to go. So far, so good.

This is at the back of the hallway, directly across from the bathroom that all the boys use, and right outside my bedroom door, so we all see it often. And, you go out the laundry room to get to the garage, so it is really in the perfect place.  The hall is narrow, so I couldn't incorporate a shelf, or a drop zone, but I solved that by creating one in the hall closet.

Mini DropZone

We use this space a lot for backpacks, computer bags, and of course my purse. I keep The Little's karate uniform in here, as well, that way I know where all the pieces are when we are making a mad dash to practice. The bench is a great place for him to sit and put on his shoes, but most of the time he would rather just on the floor.

I have a collection of Command Centers on Pinterest that is growing and growing. Check out the link below:

Tip Junkie has a great post on 10 Family Command Centers

Mine is definitely a "mini", but it works great for me.  I am working on The Littlest's homework zone next.  He definitely needs an organized space to help keep him focused and on task when it comes to getting his homework done.

Do you have any great tips for organizing your family and keeping track of all the "stuff" of a family?

Kid Art: 5 Ways to Display It

This is something that I have definitely struggled with, and I know that I can't be the only one. I never know how much to have displayed, where to display it, or how.

As I was browsing Pinterest one day I came across one image that showed a really cool idea for displaying kids work, and it got me to searching for more.

So, now, I give you...da da da daaaaa

Stress Less and Live More

We are merely moving shadows, and all our busy rushing ends in nothing. We heap up wealth, not knowing who will spend it. Psalm 39:6

As you know, one of the reasons that I started this blog was to share about our changing lives and
priorities.  In that journey, I have learned a few things about what makes me feel stress and how to manage it in a better way. I will be starting a regular feature here about how to live with less stress, or rather, how to keep from creating more stress in your life.

Don't get me wrong! I have plenty of stress and often let it get the best of me, but I am much more aware of what stresses me and how I can turn it down. And, you want to know what my secret is?

Organizing.

There, I said it. That word that is popping up all over the blogosphere with more speed than a teenager's acne.

One Garage Sale Coming Up!

Well, how the heck are ya? I’m particularly awesome today, as I started a new workout and all around getting healthier plan this week. Aside from not being able to move my arms or legs, it is all good. Seriously, I just had to fling my arms up on the keyboard and I am only moving my fingers....

Also, this weekend, I started getting ready for a garage sale that we are planning to have on March 2nd. This is part of our cleaning out and cleaning up chapter and it will be a doozy! I peeked up in the attic last week to see what needed to go and just had to go away again. It’s ridiculous how much stuff is up there!

Yes, it's a little blurry-I was balancing on one
knee and holding the camera out!

A Mini Drop Zone Project

In the midst of our changing priorities over the past year, I have recently felt the need to clean out, clean up, and get organized.  I am definitely not there yet, but I am making a pretty good stab at it.

I have organized my meal planning and food shopping process.

AND

I cleaned out our hallway closet that looked a little like this:

This is not my closet (because I forgot to take a picture of the before!), but, it's pretty dang close to what mine looked like.

I kept the vacuum in there, and I had to push it in as far as I could and then shove the door closed to keep it from being pushed back out by all the junk.  It was seriously ridiculous!
